How To Wear More Sparkle!

Marilyn Monroe wore them in Gentleman Prefer Blondes, Madonna repeated them again in her video for Material Girl , Audrey Hepburn invented such a classic and timeless look with the way she adorned them in Breakfast at Tiffany’s and let’s not forget how many Bond girls sparkled up the big screen in them.

It’s Time To Thank Yourself

This Thanksgiving I am thankful for many things.  We all have so much to be thankful for, but have you ever thought about making a list of things to thank yourself for?

It really is important to be kind to yourself and thank yourself for all of your super powers.

I’m talking about re-training your brain so that you no longer take yourself (more…)

If The Shoe Fits, Wear It!

Today I have a special treat for you.  I want to introduce you to Roxana, owner and designer at Barcelona Collective.

Taking the Time & Making the Time

Sometimes all I have on my mind is work.  It’s not a bad thing, I love it, like a lot.  I love it so much that I can create more and more work for myself as I see everything as an opportunity to learn and grow and push myself to do better and better.

I was kinda born this way.  I am unable to sit still and do nothing.  I get bored fast.  I remember, as a kid, boredom felt like it was killing me.  It was torture, to the point where (more…)

Dear Summer, Is Our Time Up So Soon?

Friday I was on the road, the sky was dark and cloudy and I felt like a close friend had died.  Perhaps somewhat dramatic but a feeling I think many of us have shared in the last few days.  I am definitely grieving the inevitable loss of summer.

80 Years Ago . . .

Yesterday we celebrated my Mom’s 80th birthday!

My Mom was born on September 1, 1939 in Bremen, Germany.  The same day World War 2 began.  A tragic and (more…)

50 years ago . . .

As you may know, I’m counting down to the big 5-0!  I gotta say, I feel pretty excited about it.  I’m healthy, fit and still love to learn new things.  So as the old saying goes, age is just a number, it really is about how you feel.

I’m excited to celebrate on Tuesday and I hope you’ll join me and come on over to the glamjulz studio!

Today I thought it would be fun to highlight (more…)

You Can Learn a Lot from Your Diary

Did you keep a diary when you were a kid?

I started my first one as soon as I could print.  Those entries went something like this.  “Today our Oma came over and she took us to the park, then we watched the Lawrence Welk Show, and it was fun.”

The entries of my six year old self were simple but also (more…)

My Weekend with the Golden Girls

Imagine a whole weekend with Rose, Blanche and Dorothy?  Come on…you can’t deny that you would absolutely LOVE every moment of it!

Earlier this summer I said to my Mom, “You know what, Mom? It’s time for you to have a little fun at the cottage and not have to do ANYTHING!  How about a girls weekend with a couple of friends and I will be there, on the sidelines, cooking and making sure your drinks are topped up?”  How could she say no?  She absolutely could NOT!  This weekend Mom and her friends had some serious fun!

The weekend was filled with (more…)
