Fauvism is a style of painting that gained popularity in France around the 20th century. Fauve artists are recognized by the way they use bright primary colours usually applied straight from their paint tubes to create an emotional impact.
Some Fauve artists include – Henri Émile Benoît Matisse, André Derain and Maurice de Vlaminck.
