Sometimes the most beautiful collaborations happen completely by accident. ✨
Last week, I visited Karen Gray’s pottery studio in Huntsville with a friend who was picking up some of Karen’s beautiful mugs. Of course, I couldn’t resist wandering around the studio while we were there… and that’s when I spotted them.
The most gorgeous little handmade ceramic pendants.
Immediately, I could see them with our beads. The colours, textures and wonderfully organic quality of Karen’s ceramics felt like such a natural fit for glamjulz — and before long, Karen and I were deep in conversation about creativity, making things with our hands, and what could happen if we brought our two worlds together.
And just like that, Found & Formed was born. 💕
Karen formed each ceramic piece by hand, and back in the glamjulz studio, I let each one lead the way — choosing colours, textures and beads that brought out the personality already living in Karen’s work.
The result is a collection of just 12 completely one-of-a-kind necklaces, combining Karen’s exceptional ceramic work with the colourful, joyful spirit of glamjulz.
And because this collaboration began in Huntsville, it only felt right that each necklace carry a little piece of Muskoka with it. The lakes, granite, sunsets, wildflowers, canoes, boathouses and star-filled skies of cottage country inspired the names of these 12 special pieces.
What I love most is that every necklace carries the hands and imagination of two Canadian women makers — each bringing her own craft, style and creative energy to the finished piece.
No two are alike. There is only one of each. And that is exactly the point.

I was lucky enough to discover glamjulz when my friend Rachel invited me to a trunk show at her hotel. I was pleasantly surprised! Monica, the designer, has truly created beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces. I am constantly getting complimented on my necklace and earrings when I wear them and they literally go with everything. I am able to wear them with my business suits or jeans and a t-shirt on the weekend. So many colors, so many styles. She can even give you great ideas on what might look great to wear them with and can do custom orders. I also love how charitable glamjulz is. At the trunk show here, Monica gave a portion of her sales to a local not-for-profit here in the Florida Keys and she regularly raises funds for other non-profits in Canada. There is nothing like doing good and getting something special at the same time. I recently saw a new piece I had to have and Monica made ordering it a breeze. This is not an easy feat considering we live in two different countries and are as far away from each other as could be on the continent of North America. I can't wait for my new julz!
