Sometimes all it takes is one special person to see you through the hard times and believe in you so that you can make a difference in the world.
Karin Kolb is doing just that for a very special family in Barbados.
Karin met the family in 2013/14 when she lived in Barbados with her family. She has seen this family through some really tough times, with various health issues. Now she is passionate about helping them to turn their lives around and support them on their entrepreneurial road to opening a restaurant and grocery store.
This new business will not only benefit the Sobers Skeete family but the community as a whole. The opening of the restaurant and grocery store will employ other members of the community and bring in business from outside the area.
The Sobers Skeete family have ambitiously started construction of this new building that will be Harmony’s Cookshop and Grocery on their own land.
Karin started a Go Fund Me for the family but also wanted to create something unique. A touchstone for her friends to wear and think positive thoughts for this hard working family.
Karin reached out to me with the idea to create a bracelet that could be layered nicely with other jewelry. Something in Ocean Blue and Sunshine Yellow. I was so happy when I found a beautiful yellow glass bead that glowed like the sunlight and turquoise adventurine gemstones which are known as the “stone of opportunity”, thought to be the luckiest of all crystals. This felt like the perfect combination for Karin’s cause. She was thrilled with the customization.
Karin has raised over $500 for the Sobers Skeete family with the sales of her bracelets. She is gearing up to raise another $500 and is overjoyed that her bracelets are now selling outside of her immediate circle of friends and family.
Here is the feedback that Karin had for us after signing up for our “Caring & Sharing” program to help the Sobers Skeete family.
“I wasn’t sure how I would launch these bracelets to get maximum exposure. Monica gave me all of the guidelines to be successful. I sold 90% of my bracelets in the very first week!”
We are so grateful to have women in the world like Karin who are passionate about helping others and changing the world for the better.
