Purple – Inspired by Prince

“Dearly beloved we are gathered here today to get through this thing called LIFE”

Purple is so vibrant, people who love it are said to be the most artistic among us.  Of course this colour is all about our man Prince.  This man is my final late great inspiration for the 2017 spring collection.

He was mysterious, naturally gifted and believed in social change as we can hear in his songs.  He discouraged complacency and he himself spent just as much time on philanthropy as he did on his music.

Purple inspires me to be dynamic, stand up for the underdog and give back to those who need it most.

The coolest thing for me to witness is that glamjulz attracts customers with the same ideals.  Everyone who wears glamjulz wants to help.  You all support us and make sure our community becomes stronger and that people have hope and opportunity.

Joining together like this is powerful.  Business transactions are made and friendships blossom.  Conversations move from, “I need a necklace to match this dress” to… “I believe in that cause too, how can I help?”

Life can be so very magical and I am grateful every day to be surrounded by people who care about the well-being of others.

As Prince himself told us, “Making love and music is the only things worth fighting for we are the new power generation, we want to change the world.”

I love to read your comments.  Please tell me all about the cause that you most believe in.

Years ago I was at a client business meeting in a small town in Quebec. A bunch of us had deked out to the hotel “lounge” for a drink. It was an odd group of plaid shirt locals drinking beer (Cinquante)and we lawyers drinking what the place was passing off as wine. It was very clear we were “not from here”.
Suddenly someone played “When Doves Cry” on the jukebox. Then everyone was up on the dance floor and for five minutes the joint was jumping all together.
After the song ended we went back to our respective tables. But it showed me how Prince’s music knew no boundaries of age, place or culture. And neither should any of us.
