This is a quote I could read every hour on the hour. Perhaps a reminder to all of us that we can change our reality at any time.
I’ve been enjoying a relaxing weekend at the cottage with my dear girlfriends. With these two gals our pattern for having a blast at the cottage is always the same.
Pour a glass of wine, sit on the back porch and purge all of our stress and challenges that we are currently having in life. Talk each problem through and come up with positive solutions and new perspectives. No whining, no complaining in this session, just listening, supporting each other and going home with a pocket full of inspiring ideas.
Next we discuss what we are excited about. Where we want to be in another year from now, money we want to earn, traveling we want to do, how we want to give back to others. This is the discussion I love the most. What a ride to see where our imaginations are taking us. We suggest different ideas for each other and I love to see the reactions on each of our faces when that happens. Suddenly we are three little girls getting all pumped up and enjoying our time in the big fantasy world that we are creating together.
Next the girls and I take the time to do a little reflection. Acknowledge how far we have come, the strides we have made and how we see the growth in each other.
That’s the stuff we get accomplished in the first full day at the cottage and we always close off the evening with a magical air guitar session to Led Zeppelin!
Please realize one thing, our imagination is our most useful tool, make time to dream. The possibilities are limitless and once you know what you want and you have that clarity, you can make plans to make those dreams your reality.
As Robert Plant so eloquently puts it in Stairway to Heaven, “Yes, there are two paths you can go by but in the long run, there’s still time to change the road you’re on”
