Mouth watering wines from Konzelmann Winery in Niagara. Delicious sliders with a choice of back bacon, Montreal smoked meat or roast beef. Creamy Oka cheese, fresh grapes, juicy peaches and nectarines, salty potato chips and sugary sweet butter tarts and maple cookies.
Does this buffet of yumminess make you proud to be Canadian? I sure hope so!
This was the spread that we presented to our guests on Friday September 22nd when we launched our very special glamjulz fall collection. A collection that focused on all of the places in Canada that mean something to the individual members of team glamjulz.
The evening went something like this:
Natasha’s colour combinations shone brightly as the Montreal and Niagara collections were love at first sight for most, both places romantic and indulgent in their own way.
Maggie stole everyone’s heart with her interpretation of the Okanagan and O’Leary, her personal stories really made the collections come to life. I overheard a few guests commenting on how beautifully Maggie captured the essence of our West and East coast.
There were a lot of “oooh’s and aaah’s” when our guests saw Dawn’s creations, Jasper and the Laurentians. I think these pieces, just like the places, have a comforting serenity about them.
My two collections highlighted Toronto and Muskoka, polar opposite to each other, but relatable for most of our guests. Many of them, like me, adore the concrete jungle, the neon lights and the hustle and bustle of our great city but also greatly appreciate the contrast of driving a couple of hours north and relaxing in the vibrant beauty and watching the “nature channel” from our porch or dock all day long.
All of the special people who came to this celebration also received a very special gift bag. I reached out to three local companies that I know and LOVE. I asked them, if they would donate a little something for our guests. All three were beyond generous!
Christy’s Gourmet Gifts donated a beautiful Canada 150 chocolate crunch wrapped with a big red bow, Bloomiss gave us lovely lip balms for all of our guests that are individually hand made by the owner herself. Hides In Hand contributed with gorgeous Canada 150 coasters and Key Chains and beautiful multi coloured leather hearts. Not only did Teresa from Hides and Hand give us these beautiful items for our guests but she also attended the party and brought leather maple leaves in the colours of our collections to match the beautiful leaves with which our Maggie had decorated the walls.
Celebrating when ideas become reality is very important to me. All of us work hard, I’m talking about you too! When was the last time you celebrated an accomplishment? Do you recognize how much energy and positivity it takes every time you cross a finish line? Be proud and say it out loud!
If you have a creative mind that won’t stop, a dream that you think is big enough for many people, or an idea that you want to share with the world, please write that stuff down! As my friend Lisa McDonald says “Live Fearlessly”.
Never forget to celebrate YOU!
